History’s Riches: Prosperous Peranakans of the Past

About Us

"History’s Riches: Prosperous Peranakans of the Past” campaign is a Publicity Campaign and Photo Exhibition that is being launched to look into the history of Malacca. The campaign is being held to preserve and spread the heritage culture of the Baba Nyonya in Melaka to the people of Malaysia. Melaka has an extensive amount of precious knowledge and culture rooted deep within its history.

On that note, Heeren Street, also known as Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock in Melaka, was chosen as the focal point of History’s Riches Campaign. Heeren Street was initially called ‘Kampung Belanda’ (Dutch Village) which eventually adapted the nickname ‘Millionaires’ Row’. This campaign will look deeper into the history of the life of Baba Nyonya that lived in this street.

With that, the theme of this campaign is Historic Colonial Towns on the Straits of Malacca. The primary Target Audience for this campaign is the Student of MMU. This campaign aims to help preserve and spread the heritage culture of the Baba Nyonya in Melaka to the people of Malaysia.

With that, History's Riches proudly presented to you Melaka's Gem: Shining Diamonds of the Past, Newletter!
